What is the FillPure Reverse Osmosis Water Filtration System?
Through reverse osmosis filtration, deionization filtration, and ultrafiltration, the FillPure Water Purification System is designed to remove 95% of the total dissolved solids (TDS) from source water. The system uses pressure across a membrane to separate the pure water from the impurities, allowing only the pure water to pass through the filters.
What does the RO water system filter out during each stage?
Stage 1: Sediment Filter
The sediment filter is the first stage in the filtration process. This filter reduces dirt, sand, rust, and other particles from the source water. In addition to removing unwanted particles from the water, this step ensures the next filter won’t clog.
Stage 2: Carbon Filter
The carbon filter’s sole purpose is to remove chlorine from the source water. The RO membrane cannot be exposed to chlorine, so it must be removed prior to the membrane stage.
Stage 3: Membrane
After the water has gone through the first carbon filter, it reaches the membrane. The membrane is made from a series of layered material with tiny pores so it can separate the impurities from the pure water molecules. Pure water is small enough to pass through the pores, but the impurities are held back on the surface of the membrane, then sent out of the filtration system to the drain.
Stage 4: Carbon Filter
The second carbon filter in the filtration system polishes the processed water to ensure it has the best taste and is odor-free.
Stage 5: Deionizing Filter
The deionizing filter (DI) takes the water that has passed through the first four stages of filtration and polishes it further to remove the remaining conductivity down to 1.3 μS. The resin beads in the DI filter attract the positively and negatively charged ions in the water and trap them, leaving only pure water able to pass though the filter.
Stage 6: Zero Bac Filter
The Zerobac is a .02-micron ultrafiltration membrane designed to catch any debris or bacteria before the water is dispensed.
